Knitting & Crocheting for a Cause
Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just curious, you're invited to join our welcoming knitting and crocheting group—now a ministry of Hope United Methodist Church. The group began at St. Peter’s UMC.
We gather monthly on the fourth Saturday of the month from 10 am to 2 pm (drop in whenever you want), to create handmade hats and scarves for the Assistance League of Everett, which provides new clothing to children in need across Snohomish County. While the League purchases most items, they gratefully accept handmade accessories—and we’re proud to contribute.
You’re free to work on any project you like, but most of us focus on these cozy donations. Each year, our group crafts almost 1,000 hats and 250 scarves, representing about 6,000 volunteer hours.
These hours help the League qualify for government grants that fund even more clothing for local kids—so every stitch truly counts.
Everyone is welcome—whether you're part of a faith community or simply looking to connect. Come for the crafting, stay for the community.
Please contact Becky W. if you have questions.
