The Ask: Sitting with Otters

    This Sunday: The Ask —

"Sitting with Otters" We're continuing our summer series, The Ask, this Sunday, August 9.

Two weeks ago, Esther's ask was to risk everything by speaking up. This week, we turn to something almost the opposite. Years ago, Pastor Rich spent months caring for two orphaned otters who wouldn't eat, wouldn't play, wouldn't heal — until a vet gave him one piece of advice: just sit with them. No feeding, no fixing, no forcing. Just presence. It turns out Job's friends knew something about this too.

When Job lost everything, they didn't offer advice or answers — they sat with him in silence for seven days. It was, for a while, exactly the right thing to do.

This week's message, "Sitting with Otters," asks what it costs us to do the same for the people in our lives — whether they're grieving, exhausted, or just stuck — and why staying might be the harder, and more loving, ask.

Join us as we explore what it means to simply show up, and stay.
