Vision Pillars Worship Series
For the first part of 2026, we will be focusing on the three foundational pillars that shape Hope United Methodist Church's identity and calling: Inclusion, Connection, and Creation. These aren't just aspirational words on a page—they're the DNA of who we are as a community and how we live out Christ's love in the world. Each pillar invites us deeper into the transformative work God is doing in and through us.
We live in a city that rewards being everywhere at once — juggling tasks, managing schedules, always half a step ahead of the present moment. And if we're honest, that
habit often follows us into church too.
This Sunday we're slowing down. Together.
We'll explore what it means to actually show up — for each other, for God, for the people in our lives who need more than our divided attention. We'll draw on the wisdom
of Mary and Martha, the witness of Jesus at the tomb, and the surprising teachings of the ancient desert fathers — who figured out centuries ago that the wandering mind is
one of the great spiritual challenges of human life.
A few things will be a little different this week. No detailed bulletin. A simpler order of worship. And a few moments that ask something of you — not performance, not
expertise, just presence.
Come as you are. We'll take it from there.
